SHE STARTED IT ESTEAM FOR GIRLS
Imagine a conference where you could try anything you wanted to and no one would judge you.
Now imagine that the person teaching you, or talking to you, or showing you how to do things was a woman too.
That doesn't happen a lot.
Especially not in the areas of ESTEAM: Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
And what if the people who were awesome at this stuff knew what it was like
when you sometimes had a hard time getting heard or seen in class or clubs?
That would be pretty cool, right?
This conference was inspired by two things:
We hope you will choose to spend Saturday, September 23, 2017 with us as we make connections with one another, enjoy challenges, explore interests, and find new ways to celebrate young women's passions in the field of ESTEAM.
- The movie She Started It which follows the paths of several young, tech startups as they try to get funding and make their way in a field dominated by men.
- The incredible resources that the Charlottesville area has when it comes to women in the areas of tech, entrepreneurship, science, math, and creative opportunities.
